Basic requirements:

Colour, adhesive and print shall be permanent up to 85 degrees
Lifetime: minimum 10 years (i.e. the label does not fall off and the print remains legible)
Resistant to oil and salt vapour and moisture
Not electrically conducting, unless safeguards restrict use to non conducting surfaces.
